Week 14a- Print Ready Design-Layout Terms

font (serif & sans-serif), -The term comes from the French word sans, meaning "without". Sans-serif fonts tend to have less line width variation than serif fonts.

margin-the edge or border of something 

guide (illustrator guides)-Nonprinting lines that can be used to create boundaries or guidelines in a drawing

BLEED-lose blood from the body as a result of injury or illness.


CMYK- is a subtractive color model, used in color printing, and is also used to describe the printing process itself


IMAGE RESOLUTION- is the detail an image holds


proof copy- a copy of (a book, story, etc) made from trial impressions made from composed type, or print-outs (from a laser printer, etc) for the correction of errors  


artboard-Printable portion of the work area, where illustrations can be finalized


registration mark- is a symbol that provides notice that the preceding word or symbol
